CEED & UCEED 2026 Registration Open: Notification, Dates, Eligibility & Application Process

Design Common Entrance Examination (CEED) and the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination (UCEED) are national-level examinations held yearly by IIT Bombay to be admitted to design courses in major institutes. CEED 2026 applies to applicants who intend to take the M.Des and Ph.D. programs, and UCEED 2026 applies to students wanting to take the B.Des programs at IITs and other participating institutes.

The two exams will be on 18 January 2026, and the registrations will be open in October 2025. The eligibility, application procedure, and important deadlines must be noted by students aspiring to design careers.

Eligibility Criteria For CEED & UCEED Registration

CEED 2026

• The candidates should have completed or are completing a Bachelor’s degree (at least 3 years after 10+2) or a diploma or a postgraduate degree equivalent.
• Individuals who finish their degree before July 2026 can do so.
• The number of attempts is not limited.

UCEED 2026

• Eligible students include students who have already passed or will be taking Class 12 / equivalent of the same in 2024 or 2025.
• Applications can be done by any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts).
• There is no age restriction.
• Applicants are allowed to take UCEED up to two years in succession.

CEED & UCEED Registration Application Process

Applicants are required to do an online application via the respective portals of CEED and UCEED. Here are the steps:

1. Go to the official site of CEED or UCEED.
2. Choose the link CEED 2026 or UCEED 2026 and click on it.
3. Fill in the details with a valid mobile number and email ID.
4. Enter information like personal information, education, and preferences for the exam city.
5. Post scanned documents (passport-size photo, signature, ID proof, and category certificate (where necessary)).
6. Make the application fee online, through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
7. Post the application form and get the acknowledgment slip.

CEED 2026

• Part A: Objective type (Aptitude, General Awareness, Visualization).
• Part B: Subjective (Drawing, Creativity, Problem-Solving).

UCEED 2026

• Part A: NAT, MSQ, and MCQ (Numerical, Multiple Choice).
• Part B: Drawing question testing creativity and visualization.

Both exams assess design aptitude, problem-solving, creativity, and analytical thinking skills.
